Your course
This course is for paramedics who want to upgrade their car licence to enable them to drive the ambulance.
The ideal way of learning to drive an LGV is by attending a block course of training. This allows us to structure the course to meet your individual requirements. Our aim is to gradually develop your skills and knowledge over the prescribed period of training enabling you to reach test standard by the completion of the course
The driver training course will include:
- Medical – D2 + D4 Forms and Study Material given at medical
- Theory and Hazard Perception Test
- Choose from eith course below
- 12 Hour Course (split over 2 days to include reversing test 3A and driving test 3B)
- OR
- 20 Hour Courses (split over 5 days to include reversing test 3A and driving test 3B)
Eligible candidates must be:
- Aged 18 and over
- Fully licensed to drive a car (Class B)
- In possession of a valid provisional LGV licence
- Physically fit
- Paramedic or applying to become a paramedic
